Observe crop production as an integrated system rather than a list of operations. Carry a notebook, field map if provided and suitable footwear; follow the farm supervisor’s access instructions. Record date, location at farm/block level, weather context and crop stage without inventing measurements.

Identify crops and varieties from verified labels, then note soil condition, irrigation source, row arrangement, weeds and implements. Ask how sowing, nutrition and water decisions were made. Observe field boundaries and drainage. Do not enter recently treated plots or operate machinery without permission and supervision.
